Chef Luigi - From Molise to DiRita's! (and everything in between)

by Merinda Di Rita

New Restaurant opening, a la carte dining opening 2nd November.

Many of you would have tasted Chef Luigi's cooking when he c0-founded the Molise restaurant in 1989 in St.Ives, before the Di Rita's father and son venture started in 2016 on Bridge Street - he came to the UK has a young man aged only 18 working as a waiter at the pike & eel - where he was quickly seen for his talented cooking - customers would travel quite some distance to taste his food.  Customers from St.Ives, Cambridge and beyond fell involve with his style of cooking.  Chef Andrew his son has worked with him since he was a young boy, watching and learning and growing his passion for bringing our Italian cooking to the community.

When we were approached regarding the conversion of the NatWest Bank in St.Ives, we had at the time two premises, the restaurant on Bridge Street and our Bakery & Pizzeria on Merryland!! We finally made our move to the Bank October 2021 and what a year it has been - The Pizza Pasta Restaurant all day dining opened a year ago and now we are ready to open our a la carte restaurant once more!! (we know you have missed this).  We are so excited to finally be opening our Da Vinci A la care dining room on Wednesday 2nd November - you can now book online www.diritasitalian.com (remember to select the correct experience on the website)
