Why I love wine (Merinda Di Rita)
Why I love wine (Merinda Di Rita) @diritasitalian
Great food and great wine is woven into our life experiences. For me it brings back memories of a time and a place. My love of wine comes down to the history and that there is so many untold stories in each bottle of wine!
What you drink reflects the environment, climate and geography of the land from which the grapes were harvested and most importantly the passion of the hardworking families who worked for hours on the vineyard.
I must add before I go on that drinking wine must be done in moderation! For me wine is something to savour whilst creating special memories with friends & loved ones. It is an appreciation of enjoying that moment in time while enjoying delicious food. ‘Wine is the passport to the world’🌍 My favourite pick of wine this month is the Pecorino it is a light-skinned wine grape used in Italy's eastern coastal regions, particularly in Marche and Abruzzo. A classic Pecorino-based wine is dry and minerally, straw-yellow in color and has an elegantly floral bouquet of acacia and jasmine, sometimes spiced with a faint hint of licorice.
